Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister, recently voiced his opinion, stating he had cautioned individuals who supported Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He mentioned that they should be wary as Imran Khan’s real character would soon be uncovered. Furthermore, he suggested that his brother Nawaz Sharif, given an opportunity, would return to the prime ministerial position.
In a recent gathering in Faisalabad, Shehbaz Sharif articulated his thoughts on the events of 2018. He criticized Imran Khan for attaining power through deceptive means. Sharif reproached Khan’s previous tenure for fostering societal divisions and accomplishing little in their four years of rule. He emphasized on Khan’s promise of not seeking aid from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a promise he later broke, resulting in a deal with the IMF.
However, Shehbaz Sharif positively noted that, presently, there are no indicators of financial insolvency, and electricity rates for consumption up to 200 units have remained constant. He underscored this in a bid to draw a contrast between the present government’s performance and the previous one.
